The Days Between Dates calculator tells you exactly how many days, weeks and months there are between any two dates. Find out how long until an event, how many days since a milestone, or the duration between any two points in time.
Pick a "from" date and a "to" date — either past, future, or one of each. The result panel updates instantly with the exact day count, the equivalent in weeks, the equivalent in months and years, and the difference broken into Y / M / D components. Order doesn't matter; if your end date is before your start date, the calculator returns the absolute difference. Useful examples: counting days until a holiday, days since a relationship anniversary, project days remaining, or working out how old someone will be on a particular date.
Days are calculated by subtracting one Unix timestamp from the other and dividing by 86,400,000 (milliseconds per day), then rounding to the nearest whole day to absorb daylight-saving shifts. Weeks are days divided by seven. The Y/M/D breakdown borrows month-by-month — going forward when needed — to give a calendar-correct answer like "1 year, 2 months, 14 days" rather than the raw decimal. Leap years are handled automatically because they're built into the timestamp arithmetic.
